I was born in Trieste, Italy, in 1962. My interest for photography started when, as a kid, I was invited into the dark-room of my father. I still remember the feeling of magic, when the black&white images were surfacing from the development acid. Years later I also pursued a passion for travels and the two interests merged spontaneously together. Therefore I became a travel photographer, focusing on landscapes and street photography and occasionally shooting wildlife and nature too.
Meanwhile, I deepened my knowledge of photography history and masters and got intrigued by the Italian school of landscape photography (G. Basilico, L. Ghirri, M. Jodice, G. Chiaramonte, etc.) and the by the American school too (W. Egglestone, J. Mejerowitz, S. Shore, L. Friedlander, etc.). Both schools taught me a passionate attention for the minor landscapes, the avoidance of the already seen and of the obvious beauty of famous landscapes. I tried to follow this path in the three explorations: CITYSCAPES, WATERSCAPES, LANDSCAPES. As the great movie director, Wim Wenders, said “this world, which has no idea of its own size and knows so little about itself, is so difficult to observe”.
Geographically, since I am living in Prague since many years, I covered a lot of Czech Republic. You can see my works on this beautiful country in the section BOHEMIA (I like better the old name).
Besides landscape, I am also focusing on STREET PHOTOGRAPHY. I find a deep pleasure to get out there, where everything is happening and just getting lost, observing the humanity in action and shooting whatever is grabbing my attention.
Finally, my love for Nature is shown in the two sections, WILDLIFE and MOUNTAINS.
