Even if I love nature, I spent most of my life in urban spaces. I lived in Trieste, Milan and Prague, but I also travelled to many cities around the world (Europe, Asia, North America) both for work and personal interests. Therefore, photographing the urban landscape was a natural outcome of my lifestyle. Being inspired by the American landscape photography tradition (Mejerowitz, Shore, Friedlander, to name a few), I got intrigued by the minor spaces, ghostly human presences, and, yes, also modern architecture, which is transforming the “cityscapes” and redefining the lifestyle of our cities. As the great movie director, Wim Wenders, said “this world, which has no idea of its own size and knows so little about itself, is so difficult to observe”.
